The Fusion Health Project at the Townsville QLD Health Warehouse
Client: Fusion Health
Project Overview / Description
We are honored to have played a pivotal role in the development and operational success of the North Queensland Distribution Centre (NQDC) for Fusion Health, located in Townsville, QLD. This state-of-the-art facility, which opened its doors on 7 August 2023, represents a significant leap forward in healthcare logistics and supply chain efficiency for the region. Our team was entrusted with the critical task of installing advanced HVAC systems, ensuring that the warehouse meets the stringent temperature control requirements essential for storing medical supplies.
Project Highlights
The new NQDC facility is a marvel of modern logistics and engineering, designed to streamline the distribution of critical medical supplies across Northern Queensland. Spanning 5,000 square metres, this facility has been built to meet the specific needs of Queensland Health, demonstrating our capability to work within the rigorous standards of the healthcare sector.
Our Contribution
Our involvement in the Fusion Health project for the Townsville QLD Health Warehouse was focused on ensuring the temperature-controlled section of the facility could reliably support the storage needs of temperature-sensitive medical stock. The challenge was not just in meeting the current demands but also in anticipating the future needs of healthcare services in Northern Queensland.
The installation of cutting-edge HVAC systems required a nuanced understanding of the healthcare sector's stringent standards, combined with our technical expertise in climate control solutions. Our team worked diligently to ensure that the system was not only efficient but also sustainable, reflecting our commitment to supporting healthcare services while minimizing environmental impact.
Project Features
- Key Features of the NQDC: Extensive Capacity: With the ability to store approximately 4,000 pallets, including an estimated 2,000 temperature-controlled pallets, the NQDC significantly enhances the region's capacity to hold critical medical supplies. Advanced Temperature Control: Half of the facility is temperature-controlled, underscoring the critical role of our HVAC installation in maintaining the integrity of consumables that require specific temperature or sterile storage conditions. Strategic Design: The facility's design, with a four-fold capacity increase compared to the previous distribution center, supports the efficient storage and distribution of supplies to Townsville, Torres and Cape, Cairns and Hinterland, North West, and Mackay Hospital and Health Services.
